It is with a sad and heavy heart that we have decided that BJC is just not going to happen this year. Even with a pared back event with no external activities or paid performers we needed around 250 people to buy their tickets. We had 128 with another 6 or 7 promises.
Simply not enough.
Some may say it was a brave move to propose to run it with all the odds already stacked against it and yes it was a gamble, which unfortunately has not paid off.
We will be issuing refunds to those who have paid to come. We thank you for supporting the event and here’s to 2020.
Harvey Hadden Sports Village
We are returning once again to Harvey Hadden Sports Village, the venue that hosted the BJC in 2007, 2011 & 2017. The staff are familiar with our event and it’s not far from the main organisers home!
In addition to a reasonable size juggling hall, for workshop spaces we will have access to a couple of dance studios and a couple of squash courts.
Included in your ticket price is access to the camping area to pitch your tent or for a small additional charge a live in Vehicle.
The sports village has an amazing swimming pool and we are looking at getting reduced price admission for us whilst we are using the venue.
The venue address is:
Harvey Hadden Sports Village
Harvey Hadden is situated in Bilborough, an area of Nottingham which is only minutes from Junction 26 of the M1 motorway. Travel here is simple.
How to travel
The closest airport is East Midlands Airport. Once you have arrived you will need to decide how you will get to the venue. There is no train station at the airport but there are four close by. In the airport there are link buses that will take you to which ever train station you have tickets from.
We would suggest arriving at Nottingham Train station and then either get a taxi or a city bus to the venue. Purchase tickets in advance for the best prices from either Trainline or East Midlands Trains.
Nottingham City Transport have an excellent service which you can view at their website. Tickets can be purchased in advance on their app or in exact cash from the driver. For long distance coach travel try looking at Megabus.
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about volunteering at the BJC 2019. Volunteering is a crucial element of any BJC, the day to day running of the event depends on it. This year we wanted to make it as easy as possible to sign up for a shift. Please read on for more information.
